FAQ
How far in advance do I need to book my event? As early as possible, especially if you have special requests. The closer it is to your event, the harder it is to accommodate you. Also, if you wait too long, another client may take your date. Booking dates are done on a first-come, first-served basis.
How long can you play for our event? It depends on the length of time you book us for, and if we have additional engagements. The price goes down for additional hours after the initial hour. We usually play a standard 55-minute set with a 5-minute break each hour.
What if you are late to the event? We will always try to be as flexible as possible, as we understand that plans can change and things do not always run to schedule of the day. Small adjustments to the timing of an event are usually easily accommodated. In the rare event that we would be late, we would make appropriate arrangements for reimbursement or extended performance time. We highly recommend that you send us a map to all events, and the number of a reliable contact person in the event that we would not be able to reach you personally.
Can you play at [location]? The expenses of arriving at your location are covered in a fee. Our coverage area is Dublin County. Other areas require an additional fee according to the distance involved.
How will I ensure you will be heard at my event? If our ensembles are well placed in the centre of an event, on stage, or in an area with good acoustical quality, there is usually no problem for the ensemble to be heard. We perform on acoustical instruments, so intimate occasions are the best venue for our performance, but we usually have no problems being heard at larger events. In rare instances, we may choose to amplify us so we can be heard better after the consultation with you.
What do the musicians wear? Black dress for women and a dark suit for men.
What area does string quartet need? We need an area at least 2x2 metre prepared for the musicians in the performance area with armless chairs.
Do you provide a piano if one is not available? Yes, we can provide our own digital piano if an acoustic piano is not available or if existing is out of tune at no additional charge.
When do we need to pay you? We prefer that you have a designated representative hand us the payment on the day of the performance.
